3 hosted regional Hub Meet Ups in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.

Through all this we’ve managed to launch brand new music, new murals, comedy specials and one poetry anthology.

We’ve built a successful, resilient touring network and a homegrown knowledge sharing platform. Most importantly, we’ve built trust amongst our hubs in different countries and inspired new creative ways of collaborating and sharing skills in our region!

The Creative South Collaborations were made up of 27 creatives over a period off 3 years

As most of the programming was virtual, the content was shared on websites and Moto Republik and other Creative South Partner social media pages. The

Comedy Special in Kenya, Art Exhibition in Mozambique and the Women’s Exchange in Botswana were all hosted during the COVID 19 pandemic meaning very few people could physically be in attendance.

Creative South EXCHANGES

2021 meet up SOAR (Space Out Artist Residency) is a virtual residency hosted by Gilbert’s HouseGarage in Botswana in collaboration with Anima from Mozambique and artists from Zimbabwe and Zambia.

The Collaboration saw the creation of the

Six murals
A virtual website exhibition for the art pieces created
Five (5) art canvas pieces in three different countries
One audio track made by a Mozambican producer

Liberate My Pussy’ was an ebook collaboration between a Kenyan poet and Zimbabwean illustrator curated by Creatives Garage in Kenya.

Modzi Arts musician Mumba Yachi collaborated with Zimbabwean musicians the Monkey Nuts. Three songs were produced as a result of these collaborations and are set to be released in mid- December 2020.
